Conversations about Christianity - (anti) book review

The Christian religion is more than two thousand years old. During this time, he had ups and downs. From the "sect" (in the modern sense of the word) of Judaism through the religion that united the states of our continent, and its disintegration into many factions, in the 20th and 21st centuries it turned into a certain system of values. And beliefs (at least officially) through the great honor of Polish society. Identification with them is not an uncritical and literal acceptance of everything that falls out of the priest's mouth (as it was before).

More and more often, the faithful (with good or evil will) are trying to reveal the meaning of the commandments and prohibitions of faith. The discussion of this topic begins as soon as they leave the temple, when the participants comment on the content of the sermons, continues in the media, analyzing the behavior and words of the priests, and ends with books discussing the basic assumptions of a particular kind of Christianity. The level and arguments of the parties to the discussion are different. However, criticism of Christianity, especially of its strongest faction, Catholicism, currently prevails. The mass media (with the exception of Catholics) increasingly present a one-sided negative image of Catholicism, sometimes refusing to explain the reasons for its protection. To make it impossible to get acquainted with another position on the issue of interest to us. Many other comparisons made by the author also seem, to put it mildly, unfounded.

Having picked up Leszek Zhuk's book, "Conversations about Christianity," I hoped that in this work I would learn several positions on issues of faith, which is declared by the majority of society (including me). Unfortunately, I was disappointed. And this was not my last disappointment. But let's start from the beginning.

This book (at least at the beginning) tends to be called popular science, at least after reading the detailed table of contents. Genotheism (a transitional form between polytheism and monotheism), sources about Jesus, the tomb of Talpiot, the Nicene and Constantinople Cathedrals, and evolutionism are mixed with such subsection headings as the prophet Jesus, that is, the chronicle of planned suicide, brainwashing, "Holy Foreskin and Christian hatred of one's neighbor." The thematic range and the varying degree of "scientific" or accuracy of the titles of excerpts from the book arouse curiosity. In order to at least partially satisfy him, a person is looking for something like a preface or introduction, where the author will clearly and concisely state the main provisions of his work. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything like that. 1xbet promo code is a welcome bonus you get when registering a 1xbet account.
